The latest from Sony Ericsson is a feature packed phone. This phone is a full touch-screen high-end phone with cool features. The phone is based on the Symbian S60 5th Edition Operating System and comes with a 3.2 inch touch-screen. This phone comes with a whopping 8MP camera with LED flash and is capable of recording HD videos. Since it is from the house of Sony, you can expect the camera to be fantastic too.
As far as other features are concerned, Sony Vivaz comes with a 720 MHz processor with PowerVR SGX graphics and the usual features you can expect in a high-end phone being 3G, Wi-Fi, GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth v 2.1 with A2DP and A-GPS wise pilot navigation. It has an Internal memory of 75MB that can be expanded up to 16 GB. However the phone itself comes with a 8GB card which is included in the package. The phone also comes with stereo FM with RDS and a 3.5 mm audio jack. It also has a TV out, so you can directly connect your phone to TV or a projector. That aspect is cool because you can use it just like you use a digital camera or video camera.
Other applications which come along with are Facebook, YouTube, Google Maps, Office document reader etc. It also comes with Picasa which can help you to directly upload and share photos on the web.
Sony Vivaz is available in a variety of colours such as Black, Silver, Blue and Ruby. It will be launched sometime in Q1 of this year and priced around Rs35,000. Considering the features, i think that you don’t need to have another digital camera, once you have this phone (except if you are a professional photographer).
Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro is more or less the same phone with a Qwerty keyboard. The drawback with Vivaz pro is that it comes with only a 5MP camera but luckily however it retains all the other features of its parent phone. This model is more for people who like to text a lot and use it even as a business phone. As per Sony it’ll be available from 2nd Quarter onwards.
