Flipkart started teasing the mid-ranger pixel devices from Google. Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL are expected to launch on May 8th as teased. The pixel 3 devices are considered to be the best camera smartphones with excellent software. But the current price bracket wasn’t welcomed and Google Pixel 3 was not successful in terms of sales. Google is now making a comeback with the new Google pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL which would be more price-centric for emerging markets like India.
Though this mid-ranger was rumored a long time back and Google accidentally teased it on their official stores. Recently Flipkart teased the same saying “Losing sight after twilight. something’s coming“. This could be a probable hint at the official launch on May 8th in India.
Promo clearly says that the smartphones will have night sight on board. These smartphones will also have Motion Focus and Portrait Mode and will offer unlimited Google Photos storage. Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL will come with at least three years of security and version updates meaning they will get Android Q, R, and S. They would also feature fast charging, Call Screen, and the custom-made Titan M security chip.
The pixel 3a which is the smaller and would feature a 5.6-inch FHD+ OLED display along with Snapdragon 670 SoC. It will be powered by a 3,000 mAh battery.
Pixel 3a XL
The larger pixel is having 6-inch FHD+ OLED display panel along with Snapdragon 710 SoC. It will be powered by a 3700 mAh battery.
Hardware & Pricing
Both the phones would include 12.2 MP dual pixel cameras, 8 MP wide-angle selfie cameras. 4GB RAM coupled with 64/128GB storage. The operating system will be Android Pie with the latest security patch and updates. These phones will also feature Active Edge sensors and rear-mounted fingerprint scanners. Pricing is not confirmed as of now but the Pixel 3a will start at $399 in the US whereas the 3a XL will start at $479 as rumored.
The Pixel 3a and 3a XL will be unveiled during Google’s keynote at I/O 2019 which starts at 10 am PDT, May 8 (10:30 pm IST).
