Uninor has announced a major breakthrough in the cellular services market by launching the facility of NO ROAMING CHARGES. From now on, Uninor Subscribers from Mumbai will not have to pay call charges for incoming calls and SMS’s when they are travelling in Gujarat. Besides offering the facility of no charge for Incoming, Uninor is also charging all outgoing calls and SMS at a flat rate of 50p/min. This unique facility of Uninor is offered for subscribers in Mumbai travelling to Gujarat and is valid on both per minute and per second plans, and will be valid on calls going to/coming from any other service provider.
Speaking about the product launch, Upanga Dutta – Circle Business Head, Mumbai Circle said:
At Uninor we believe in making things easy for our customers, and we all are aware of the high traffic population that travels between Mumbai and Gujarat on a daily basis. We launched Roam Free for our Mumbai customers so that they never have to think twice before using their phone while in Gujarat, much the same way they would at home. So the next time you are in Gujarat, go ahead and make those calls, whether professional or personal without roaming charges coming in the way.
Uninor is the first Service Provider to offer the service of Free Roaming and this shows that the company is committed to making their network strong in the country. This unique service also tells us that, due to the implementation of Mobile Number Portability in the country, each Service provider will now offer more and more facilities to woo customers to their network. This is just the beginning of telecom wars in the country and you can be expect similar plans from more and more operators in the days to come.
