So we all were expecting the Lumia 928 to be unveiled at Nokia’s London event on 14th May, but it seems Nokia’s in a bit hurry. The company’s officially announced the handset exclusively for Verizon at $99. It will be available from May 16th on Verizon’s fast 4G network in two color versions – Black and White.
Nokia is again betting on their PureView camera technology with this Windows device. Lumia 928 packs the same camera as we saw on Lumia 920 (8.7MP image sensor / 26mm wide-angle Carl Zeiss lens with F/2.0 aperture). The difference in the 928 model is the addition of Xenon flash alongside the standard LED flash as well as Optimal Image Stabilization (OIS). Along with 1080p @ 30fps video capture, the Lumia 928 will also be able to record sounds as loud as 140dB with ‘HAAC wide dynamic range microphones’ for superior quality audio recording.
A 4.5 inch HD OLED with 1280 x 768 resolution, an aspect Ratio of 15:9, pixel density of 334 ppi and Nokia’s ClearBlack technology, altogether make up for the display on Lumia 928. Rest of the specifications and features almost resemble the Lumia 920. Internally, there’s a 1.5GHz dual-core Krait processor with 1GB of RAM, a 2,000mAh battery, Windows Phone 8, 32 GB storage, NFC and also Nokia’s goodies like HERE Drive+ worldwide SatNav, Nokia Music, Transit, City Lens and more.
