Lenovo owned Motorola Moto Z4 was launched on Thursday with Snapdragon 675 SoC, 48 MP IMX586 rear sensor and support for Moto mods. The availability is restricted to the United States and Canada only but it’s also expected to launch in India soon. It’s notable to mention that the company’s online retail partner started selling the device way ahead of its official launch.
Build & Display
Moto Z4 comes with an aluminum frame along with glass on both the front and rear sides. The phone weighs 165 g and has a thickness of 7.4 mm. The Z4 is also splash and dust resistant. On the front we have an OLED 6.4-inch display having a screen to body ratio of 84.8 percent and produces 403 pixels per inch. The screen resolution counts 1080 X 2340 pixels and is covered by Gorilla Glass 3 for protection.
Android 9 Pie is the choice of the operating system here with close to stock android look with a very minimal amount of customization done by the company.
Hardware & Memory
Inside the phone is where the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset sits on an OctoCore CPU coupled with Adreno 612 GPU. Dedicated memory card slot supports SD cards up to 1 TB with 128 GB of internal memory and 4 GB of RAM.
On the rear side of the phone is where things get really impressive with a single 48 MP snapper having f/1.7 aperture, a pixel size of 1.6-microns, and produces 12-megapixel images with support for OIS (Optical Image Stabilization). On the front, it’s again a single 25 MP sensor having f/2.0 aperture.
Connectivity and Other features
The phone comes with usual connectivity features like 3.5 mm audio jack, WLAN, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, and USB 3.1 type C. A fingerprint sensor is also present under the display along with accelerometer, gyro, proximity and compass sensors.
Battery & Colors
Moto Z4 gets its power from a non-removable 3600 mAh battery which supports 15 W turbocharging out of the box. As of now flash grey and frost white colors have been announced by the company.
Pricing and Availability
Moto Z4 is priced at $499 which is approximately Rs. 35000 for the 4GB/128GB storage variant. The sale starts on June 6 in the US and pre-orders have already started and in Canada, the sale is expected later this summer. Verizon customers would get the same in $240 offer from June 13. A 5G compatible moto mod will also be offered to Verizon customers at $199.99 and the Moto 360 Camera Mod will be bundled for models unlocked on the same price.
