At an event in Cupertino, Apple has revealed its new series of Smartwatch devices. No doubt they will be called the “Apple Watch Series 5” which brings noticeable upgrades than its predecessor the Apple watch series 4 launched last year.
The Apple Watch Series 5 would be sold in multiple cases namely Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Titanium and Ceramic. The pricing for the device starts at $399 for the GPS enabled version and $499 for the LTE model.
Apple Watch Series 5 now fully supports the always-on display functionality. This functionality now lets the user see the time and other important information without raising or tapping the display. The new wearable series features a low power display driver and an improved ambient light sensor. The display is capable of settings dynamic refresh rates on the display from up to 60Hz coming down as low as 1Hz which ultimately saves a lot of battery. Apple Watch Series 5 shall debut with watchOS 6 which includes new health and fitness features like cycle tracks, the noise app, and activity trends.
“We’ve seen Apple Watch have a meaningful impact on our customers’ lives and we’re excited to deliver even more capabilities with Apple Watch Series 5 and watchOS 6,” said Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer. “
The news series got a functional improvement on its emergency calling over LTE. Now the watch can dial the emergency number in over 100 countries in the absence of an iPhone.
