After the sad demise and rebirth as a Fan Edition, Galaxy Note 7 might see the daylight if everything goes right. With the frequent battery explosions, Galaxy Note 7 was kind of pulled back from the market by the company. Samsung again got the battery explosion thing fixed and rebranded the Note 7 as the Fan Edition. But all of this will again go down the lane as the company is preparing for the grand launch of Galaxy Note 8 on August 23 at New York.
Way ahead of the launch, as per sources the final specifications of the Note 8 have been leaked and it kind of looks genuine and upright real for that matter. Evan Blass recently tweeted the final production unit on his twitter handle @evleaks where he also posted the final spec sheet as mentioned below.
The thickness on the Note 8 is close to 8.5 MM which does provide ample room for IP68 certification for water resistance. The front and back panels are covered with Gorilla Glass 5 which is our assumption.
The display on the Galaxy Note 8 will be a 6.3 inch Super AMOLED panel which is even larger than the Galaxy S8+. The panel is squared off the side which gives a screen resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels making it a Quad HD+ Infinity display which is kind of identical in comparison to the Galaxy S Series.
Processor & Memory
Inside the Note 8, you will get identical Qualcomm Snapdragon Chipset (For USA) and Exynos 8895 chipset for the international markets.
For Memory, it will be using 6GB of RAM coupled with 64GB of internal storage which will be expandable via micro SD cards.
Samsung is finally getting the dual camera setup for the Galaxy Note 8 with two 12 mega pixel sensors where the primary sensor is a wide angle lens and the other one is a telephoto lens having f/1.7 and f/2.4 aperture respectively. Both the sensors do support OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) which was missing on the OnePlus 5 launched earlier.
The rear camera is a 8 MP sensor having a f/2.7 aperture with auto focus.
Battery and Other Features
Source of power is from a 3300 mAh battery which does support fast charging 3.0 via USB type C port or wirelessly. It is expected to ship with Android 7.1 nougat with Samsung’s customized proprietary skin touch wiz. Colors will include maple gold, midnight black, orchid gray and deep sea blue where only maple gold and midnight black would be available initially.
As per leaks, pricing would be around €1,000 in the Europe which if converted in INR would be around Rs.75000.
